My Worship Is My Weapon
“All the nations you have made shall come and worship before you, O Lord, and shall glorify your name. For you are great and do wondrous things; you alone are God.” (Psalm 86:9-10 ESV)
What’s your choice of weapon in a battle? “Consider this: When your heart is the heaviest, your hurts are the deepest, the tears stings worse than ever that is the time when Worship should be the loudest.”
I remember as a child I did always see my mom worship God even if the situation at that moment isn’t so good. My mom will always tell me and my siblings in all things worship God. Whenever I call to tell her about something bothering me, she will ask me to take it to God in prayer and if I can’t find the words to say then I should sing to Him. Now this feels and sounds easy when something good happens to me but not so easy when it’s the other way around.
Recently, I had some issues in school. The moment the news got me, I panicked, I was so worried. My thoughts began to wander in a land of; ‘how could’ ‘what if.’
When I got back to my hostel, I knelt to pray but I had nothing to say. Then I remember my mother’s word to me, in all things Worship. At that moment, I began to Worship His Name in songs and it was as if a great weight was lifted from my shoulder.
Now, Worship at that moment didn’t take the problem away but it built my spirit and helped lift my focus from the issue on ground back to God and His Promises as written in His word.
“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” (Psalm 46:10 ESV)
Truth is, “When we worship, we stop looking at the fight in front of us and start looking at the God in us.” In all your battles, make Worship your weapon of choice today.
God bless you!
